Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1
Also known as NAIA-1, was built in 1981 and is the second oldest terminal of the Manila International Airport. An area of that terminal is 67.000 square meters. Terminal 1 serves all foreign flights coming to the airport and operated by the majority international airlines except All Nippon Air (ANA), Delta Air Lines, Cathay Pacific, KLM, Emirates, and Singapore Airlines. The overall terminal capacity has grown from 4.5 million passengers in 1991 up to 6 million annually. That was reached due to numerous improvements and renovations of that terminal. However, despite that fact, the Terminal 1 in comparison with other Asian international terminals was ranked at the bottom due to the poor passenger comfort and crowding. Therefore, the plan for the terminal renovation was approved by President Benigno Aquino III, meaning that the expansion of the arrival area, additional parking space and improvement of other terminal facilities will take place. After 2014 five international airlines that were not served by the Terminal 1 were moved under the operation of the Terminal 3 in order to decongest the terminal.
